In 1905, a man from Greece came to America with some experience in candy making. Eager to learn more, he visited Stephen F. Whitman, founder of Whitman Chocolates in Philadelphia, and Milton Hershey, founder of Hershey Chocolates.

His visits were successful and with no collateral, he received financing from Mr. Whitman and Mr. Hershey for the amount of $1000. With the advise from both Whitman and Hershey, a chocolate store was opened in Bangor, Pa., as there was no other chocolate stores in the town at that time.

Although there were other family owners since 1905, the Bussenger's purchased the business in 1978 when it was called 'Callies Candy Kitchen'. The name was changed to 'Chocolates on Broadway' in 1996.

Using the same recipes for over 60 years, we are truly dedicated to manufacturing a high quality product at a reasonable price.
